Weblab supports a heterogenious distribution of jump angles. In this case the final spectrum is a superposition of motional averaged spectra calculated for several jump angles and weighted with the probability given by a distribution function. Possible distributions are:

Box
Gauss

From the cone menu you supply ϕ0 as the center of the distribution as well as the full width 2σ. All values are entered in degree. The use of these formulas should be restricted to small values of σ.

Please note the difference between jump angle distribution in section Cone Menu, which is available in fast case, and jump angle distribution in section Superposition. While the first describes jumps of one molecule or bond, whose jump angles are smeared out by a certain degree, leading to one averaged spectrum, the latter accounts for jump processes described by a distribution of spectra with different jump angles, thus taking into account a certain heterogeneity within the sample.

When pressing View, weblab shows a sketch of the distribution function, it will use in its calculation.

It is not possible, to consider a distribution of cone axes or jump rates together with a distribution of jump angles. If you are interested in one of these, set 'no' for jump angle distribution.

Jump angle distribution is not avaliable, when 4 or 6 sites are selected. These cases are limited to fixed jump angels of 90° or 66.67° respectively.
